OHM Beads | January 2021 | Bracelet and Outfit Styling
Happy Release Day to OHM Beads! Today, their January 2021 Release launched. This release has 3 collections: OHM Chinese New Year, OHM Beauty and OHM Rawr. If you would like to see a detailed look at the pieces in this release, I do have a Youtube video sharing closeups in motion:
In today’s blog post, I am sharing how I styled my OHM Rawr beads with an outfit of the day! I also share two other bracelet designs using the beads from the OHM Chinese New Year Collection and the OHM Beauty Collection.
This blog post is also co-hosted by the sweet Alice Haenim. When I was taking photos for this blog, she came right over and wanted me to pick her up. She was quite curious about what I was up to!
If you would like to know more about her (she is a rescue dog from Korea) and hear her adoption story, check out my @fashionstoryteller IGTV video or my pet account, @pawfectella.So, if you ready for today’s blog post…Make sure to grab a delicious cup of tea (I’m enjoying some Buddha’s Blend from DAVIDsTEA) and let’s get started!

OHM Rawr, OHM Beauty and OHM CNY collections were gifted to me by OHM Beads. OHM Bird Cage was sent to review.Outfit Styling with the OHM Rawr Collection
I love the glass beads in the OHM Rawr collection. The earthy, stone-like colours look so cool paired with the sterling silver beads. The names of the three glass beads are: OHM Gondwana, OHM Rodinia and OHM Pangaea.
From left to right, the glass beads are: OHM Rodinia, OHM Gondwana and OHM Pangaea. As soon as I saw these glass beads, I couldn’t wait to pair them with my dress from American Eagle. It is called the Soft and Sexy Plush Tunic Dress. The tunic dress and colours of the OHM glass beads match so well together! This tunic dress is a few seasons old, but you can find a similar version HERE. I actually am tempted to purchase this tunic dress too.
OHM Heart of the Woods mug is from OHM Together. I love the Soft and Sexy Plush line from American Eagle, especially during the autumn and winter seasons. They are made of 74% Viscose and 21% Polyester. They are soft to the touch. I have a few pieces from the collection and each one is cozy and comfortable. I find them especially perfect if you work from home or for a casual weekend!
I also love that the pieces in the Soft and Sexy Plush line are basic wardrobe staples, making them great for layering with a faux leather jacket, favourite sweater/cardigan, scarf or vest!To accessorize my tunic dress, I decided to add a statement necklace. I chose the OHM Bird Cage. This pendant is unique. It also has a “locket-like” quality where you have the option of adding something special inside of it. The door opens and it has a little lock to keep it closed. I chose to wear it with nothing inside and without the lock.
If you would like to hear more about the OHM Bird Cage, Nichol of @myprettycharmedlife and I did an Instagram Live video on it, as well as a few other BBQ beads. You can watch it HERE.Also, to accessorize (and stay cozy), I added my La Vie En Rose Knitted Knee-High Socks in Grey. I love the cute pom-pom details! Do you prefer cozy socks or slippers? I love both!
Of course, I also had to add a bracelet stack to complete the look! Pictured, you will first see my OHM Rawr bracelet design. I styled beads from the OHM Rawr Collection onto my OHM Twisted Bangle.
I paired my OHM Rawr bracelet design with my OHM Plain Bangle featuring pieces from the OHM Beauty Collection, as well as a bracelet from Joanna Bisley.
Here is a close up of my OHM Plain Bangle with pieces from the OHM Beauty Collection. Each bead in the OHM Beauty Collection comes inside its own magenta pink box. I love this pop of colour! As mentioned in my Youtube video, I would love OHM Beads to come out with a magenta pink (or rose pink) OHM Whip Bracelet!
Not worn, but also released today is the OHM Chinese New Year collection! I had so much fun styling these new pieces onto my Lucky Red OHM Whip Bracelet. I am excited to share another outfit of the day, styling this bracelet. Stay tuned!
And that concludes today’s blog post! Do you have any favourite pieces from this release? If so, how would you style them?

Harlow’s Adoption Birthday | Beadmas Day 10
Happy Beadmas 2020! I hope you had a great week. Today, we are celebrating Harlow’s Adoption Birthday, as well as Day 10 of Beadmas!
In today’s blog post, I am sharing some of my favourite facts about my very special guinea pig. Many of you came to know Harlow on my Youtube videos. She often co-hosted with me and was a great little jewellery model. She was also (and still is) one of my very best friends. She is now a Guardian Guinea Angel. She went to heaven in the Spring of 2019.
So, if you ready! Make sure to grab a delicious cup of tea (Harlow would recommend, Buddha’s Blend from DAVIDsTEA, that was her favourite) and let’s get started!
This post contains some affiliate links. Many people described Harlow as more like a dog, then a guinea pig. She loved being by my side. She would come out of her habitat to find me. She also loved exploring around our home and going on adventures with us outside. She came on picnics, short nature walks (we would carry her) and once she even came to a waterfall with us! Check out my Youtube Video “In-Loving Memory” for a photo.
She was also washroom trained. So much so, that she would let me know when she would have to go and I would bring her back to her habitat.
Her favourite foods were kale, arugula, apples and strawberries. Oh, and of course Timothy Hay and her Oxbow Support treats!
Harlow also loved “tea time” with me. She enjoyed taste testing all the different herbal teas. She loved “Harlow Approving” the “tea of the day” during DAVIDsTEA 24 Days of Tea too.Harlow was extremely affectionate and loved cuddle time. She also loved to take naps with me and would gentle wake me up when she got hungry or had to go to the washroom. I would drop her off and not long later, she would be “wheeking” for me to come back and get her.
She would also “purr” a very affectionate sound, all the time! This is one of the sounds I miss hearing the most.
I think one of my favourite things about Harlow was how compassionate and loyal she was. Whenever I was having a tough day or not feeling well, she would never leave my side.Harlow’s personality was confident, compassionate and courageous. She was the leader (or Queen, as we like to say) of our two other guinea pigs, Zooey and Georgina. She loved bossing them around and “setting them straight”! Harlow enjoyed both Zooey and Georgina’s friendship, but she was extra close with Georgina.
Harlow also loved meeting new human friends, especially if they gave her treats! She was very social for a guinea pigHarlow was an Abyssinian Guinea Pig which means she had beautiful rosette-like fur. It would grow in different directions and would grow out in “circular like” shapes.
The colour of her fur was a mixture of colours: red, gold, blonde and white. I also liked to say her fur was a caramel colour. And that concludes some of my favourite facts about Harlow! She was a very special guinea pig and a best friend I will never forget.
The bond with a pet can be so strong and special, no matter their size or species! Do you have any special pets that you hold close to your heart? The Giveaway:

OHM Beads Holiday Style | Beadmas 2020 | #BeadmasStories
Happy Beadmas 2020! I hope you are all had a great week. I cannot believe it is already Friday and day 4 of Beadmas!
In today’s blog post, I am sharing a cozy outfit styled with some holiday themed OHM Beads piece.
So, make sure to grab a delicious cup of tea and let me share my outfit with you!The Jewellery:
For jewellery, I am wearing my Lucky Red OHM Whip Bracelet. It is limited edition and exclusive to OHM in Taiwan. It is such a brilliant pop of red. Perfect for the holiday season, but year round too! On it, I have a mixture of Beadmas, Christmas/Holiday beads, as well as beads such as OHM OHMily and OHM Bead Mail. These two beads remind me of this amazing bead community and the wonderful people at OHM.
I am also wearing my OHM Drop Necklace paired with OHM Candy Crush, OHM Sugar Dipped and OHM Ice Cube. I am obsessed with OHM Ice Cube and find myself using it with a lot of necklace designs. It is perfect for the winter season! BUT…it’s also fun to wear in the summer, when you need to “cool off”. It is an exclusive bead to OHM in Thailand.
The Clothing:
For clothing, I am wearing a ruffled sweater vest I purchased from Anthropologie almost two years ago. This vest is a great layering piece and it is very versatile. I can dress it up or down. I can also wear it in the spring, autumn and winter seasons. It has a nice amount of warmth to it! I also love the creamy colour to it! I tried to find a similar version, but I couldn’t find an exact match. Another vest I have been eying (in a similar colour) is the Maddie Sherpa Vest from Anthropologie.
For today’s outfit, I paired it with an older cotton shirt from Marshals for a more casual look.

OHM Preview Day | July 2020
Hello everyone! I hope this blog post finds you and your loved ones safe, healthy and well, during this time. <3
#BlackLivesMatter | To learn more, click HERE.In today’s blog post, I am sharing a preview of the OHM Beads July Release. This is a smaller launch with three beads releasing.
I will be using OHM Beads promotional photos today, as I have not received OHM Cairn or OHM Shark Bay yet to take additional photos and video. My local postal services have been quite slow, the past few months. I am so excited to see these two beads in-person to give a full review!
So, if you are ready…make sure to grab a cup of tea and let’s get started!OHM Cairn | OHM Lab Project
Laboratory Assistant | Patricia McClure @the_mcctrish
I’ll put a stone on your stone.
– Gaelic Blessing of FriendshipThe first bead I have to share with you is OHM Cairn. This is an OHM Lab Project with the Laboratory Assistant being the wonderful Patricia McClure AKA @the_mcctrish. This glass bead is inspired by the stacking of stones or rocks, also known as cairns in Gaelic Scotland.
OHM Cairn will add a subtle, carefully balanced hue of color to your bracelet, reminding you of the precious impermanence of each day, the gratitude you feel for guideposts along your journey, and the friendships you share that stack blessing upon blessing. “I’ll put a stone on your stone” and a pebble of good luck too!
– OHM BEADS X @the_mcctrishThis is a OHM glass bead and features peaceful stones stacked together. This stone detail goes all around the bead. From the photos I have seen, this bead looks calming and so unique. I love the neutral colours of greys and whites, two staple colours in my wardrobe. I am looking forward to styling this bead!
OHM Shark Bay | Exclusive
The next bead I have to share with you is OHM Shark Bay. This is a regional exclusive glass bead to OHM in Australia.
The bead is inspired by Shark Bay, located in the western point of Australia. Shark Bay is home to hundreds of species such as birds, retiles, fish…and sharks! The Whale Shark is known as the largest shark in the world and it gathers in Shark Bay during the ,months of April and May full moons.Deep blue sea waves swirl into white foam as they spread across the sandy shore. The vibrant salty blue is flecked with shimmers that could be darting fish, bubbles from a whale, or a nearly transparent jellyfish. Is the sandy hue the seagrass floor? Or sea turtles nesting in the shoreline dunes? Your imagination can soar with the rising flocks of birds or leap with the dolphins or even cruise with graceful menace like a shark. Surely this is an OHM bead worthy of the name SHARK BAY.
– OHM BEADSOHM Woot Bear Phinneas
Do you remember the April OHMistry Project Woot Bear? He was a limited edition bead that was extremely popular! There were only 111 made and this little bear sold out fast! Designed by Steve Ferrera with OHM Beads, the Woot Bear Phinneas will now be available for regular release on July 2nd, 2020. I am so excited for those who really wanted to add this little bear into their bead collection, but were unable to!
I first featured my Woot Bear bead in my May Preview YouTube video. You can watch it HERE or down below:The Woot Bear design was born in Steve Ferrera’s Berkeley art studio in 2016 for an art show at Woot Bear Gallery in San Francisco. The original bear was a 5-inch tall solid cast resin figure painted with acrylic paints…
– OHM BEADS X Steve Ferrera
The design continues to evolve and find new iterations, this time finding a home in the jewelry and bead world with OHM Beads in Seattle, Washington.I love Woot Bear Phinneas. He has adorable OHM signature swirls as his fur and he is holding a cute staff. He has the sweetest expression and I am so happy he will be available worldwide!
And that concludes this blog post! Which bead is your favourite?
This Release will be launching on July 2nd, 2020.

The Making of OHM Don’t Give Up | My OHMistry Bead
Hello everyone! I hope this blog post finds you and your loved ones safe, healthy and well, during this time. <3
#BlackLivesMatter | To learn more, click HERE.In today’s blog post, I am sharing how my Project OHMistry bead OHM Don’t Give Up was made. From the initial sketch, to the wax carving and to the end result…I will be sharing this fun adventure with you.
If you missed seeing my announcement about OHM Don’t Give Up, I have created a page with my previous YouTube videos and blog posts. You can find it HERE.
The OHM Don’t Give Up bead releases on June 19th at 10:00 AM PT.
So, if you are ready to learn how OHM Don’t Give Up was made…make sure to grab a delicious cup of tea and let’s get started!
* Photos courtesy of OHM BeadsIdeas, Stories and Inspirations…
In this Youtube video, I share a detailed look at what inspired OHM Don’t Give Up. You can watch it HERE or down below:
After brainstorming through my inspirations for my bead, I began to sketch out some ideas. I knew I wanted a mountain/journey concept, with a “dark” scary side and a “light” happy side. It was important this bead had a nature and fairytale theme too.
I was also inspired by my favourite bible verse, Hebrews 11:1 ⛰ ✨Sketching it out…
After I sketched out a few ideas, I sent my sketches and design concept to OHM Beads. We began to collaborate on the bead design! They took my ideas/concepts and transformed them into an incredible bead design. I had so many ideas for a tiny bead and I was shocked at how many of those ideas they were able to keep or expand on.
They also asked me a wonderful question: did I want the bead to be like a real mountain or more of a fictional idea? I loved their idea of a real mountain, so we went with that concept!
They sent the bead concept art to me and we tweaked around with the bead design together, playing around with snakes, wolves and ghostly creatures!
They also added an adorable mushroom house to the “light side” of the mountain. This touch was so “me” and makes me smile to this day! So sweet of them to add that detail in!After we approved the final design, it was time to test the design out in wax!
Lost-Wax Casting
OHM Beads sent me videos and photos of OHM Don’t Give Up in the lost-wax carving. The process of lost-wax casting allows intricate details to be achieved. It also provides an idea of the size and a safe testing ground to see what the details will look like, before testing it out in sterling silver.
It was fascinating to see the journey of a sketch transform into a wax carving! I was shocked to see how many details were achieved on wax.
After the wax casting was approved, it was time to move forward and create the silver master mold!Silver Master Mold
The silver master mold was incredible to see! OHM Beads sent me photos and videos from every angle. They even added a blue sharpie pen over the laser engraving placement on the You Did It, so we could see it clearly.
All our ideas were captured perfectly. The details from the wax were maintained. I could not get over how much detail made it onto a small bead. I also LOVED the font OHM Beads chose for the bottom of the bead that reads, “Don’t Give Up”.
OHM Beads also styled the silver master mold with other wax molds, so I could get an idea on size (see below photo).Box Art | OHM Don’t Give Up
The box art was a challenge for me! I had so many ideas, but none of them seemed “good enough”. One night, I was walking in the rain and an idea hit me: why not do a fairytale story sketch?
I took inspiration from my engagement photos. They were taken on a mountain top with a Little Red Riding Hood inspired dress that I made for the occasion. I loved the idea of a woman wearing a protective clock, on her journey up and over the “Don’t Give Up” mountain.Engagement photos taken by Calyssa Lorraine I sketched out my ideas and then created the final sketch. I coloured it in with a mixture of pencil crayons and prismacolor markers. The only thing I didn’t think about was the direction of the box, on the back. Which is why it’s in the opposite direction of other OHMistry boxes. Oops!
OHM Beads had the fantastic idea to add Don’t Give Up to the box art using the same font as the bottom of the bead. I loved that idea!
It was also during this time that I sent in my official bead description and artist biography. I found the artist biography SO hard to write! Special thank you to Nichol, my mom and Mike at OHM for giving me some ideas!Approving the Insert
After the box art, bead description and artist biography were finalized, OHM Beads sent me the bead box insert to approve. We decided to showcase the “dark side” of the mountain, when you first open the box. It is the “start of the journey”, after all! When you unfold the insert and look inside, you would see the “light side” of the mountain.
Finalizing OHM Don’t Give Up
After the “big things” were completed, OHM Beads and I confirmed a few other things that included the announcement date and release date.
And…Here We Are!
9 days until OHM Don’t Give Up releases! It is so surreal, crazy amazing and exciting. A special thank you again to OHM Beads (and all of you) for making this huge dream come true for me. Means the world and back!
I cannot wait to see how you will style this bead, and to hear your “Don’t Give Up” stories. <3Retails for $70 USD.

The Art Oblivion | In Awe & In Search Beads
I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe, during this outbreak. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
In today’s blog post, I will be sharing a closer look at The Art Oblivion‘s upcoming release of their two new beads: TAO In Awe and TAO In Search. From left: TAO In Awe, In Search These two sterling silver beads are releasing for pre-order on May 22nd, 2020 (today). They will officially release and ship out on June 1st, 2020.
The first 25 beads (of each style) that are pre-ordered will be sold at a special price of $66 USD. After that and onwards, both beads will be $98 USD.To coincide with this blog post, I will also have a new YouTube video! You can watch it HERE or down below:
A special thank you to The Art Oblivion for sending me these 2 beads to review and style with!
Let’s take a look…
TAO styled with OHM x TAO Unveil Glass Bead TAO In Awe and TAO In Search are done in the barrel shape, like their first launch of beads (you can find my blog post about the launch beads HERE). I find this barrel shape very comfortable to wear. The larger barrel shape also creates a beautiful and unique bracelet design that really pops out! I also find them very easy to design with.
When I unboxed both, I was blown away by the details. Both beads are beautifully executed with spectacular imagery throughout the silver. I am excited to style both beads with a starry night/galaxy theme.
So far, I have worn my TAO beads on my OHM Twisted Bangle, but I did see my best friend, My Pretty Charmed Life style them on her OHM necklace and it looked beautiful!
For today’s blog, I styled them with the OHM X TAO Unveil glass bead. The Stories Behind the Beads
In Awe
Over the course of our lifetime, we will face many trials and tribulations, many cycles, and seasons within our overall existence.
– The Art Oblivion
At this moment in time, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are facing collective challenges AND creativity that is unifying us – and dividing us – in unprecedented ways. This clarity and conflict toggles minute by minute within ourselves. It can be disorienting. Does it feel impossible to know which way to go?
When a dancer is spinning quickly, they are taught to “spot” one point ahead by keeping it in focus, to avoid getting dizzy and spinning out of control. Let us “spot” on the microcosm of simple everyday miracles, let us focus on knowing that every feeling is a season, let us keep in mind that every experience is an opportunity to deepen the intimacy and knowing of ourselves – and consequently others.
“In Awe” is an invitation, reminder, and talisman to be right here, right now; to be with what is uncomfortable as much as with what brings us joy, so we may know ourselves better and develop increased resilience. When things get overwhelming, look up to the sky at the beauty and miracle of light and our ability to perceive it. Let us feel into our connection with the Universe, as all organic matter containing carbon was produced originally in stars. “We are stardust, we are golden” and we are never alone.
We can combine “In Awe” with “In Search” to keep our feet on the ground while reaching for the stars. To quote Ruth Gordon in Harold and Maude “the earth is my body, my head is in the stars.”In Search

Within tragedy there is opportunity for deep insight not otherwise available to us. It takes deep insight to calibrate our inner compass in order that we may navigate our own way with personal integrity, especially when the way is through uncharted territory. No one can do this for us, and it is essential work if we wish to avoid getting lost in the chaos.
“In Search” is an invitation, reminder, and talisman to be right here, right now; to be with what is uncomfortable as much as with what brings us joy, so we may grow to know ourselves better and develop increased resilience. When things become overwhelming, it is time to breathe in deep, check in with our inner compass and then – only then – set our feet firmly on terra firma, discern our path, and move.
Let us access our connection with the Earth and its diverse topography. Let us absorb the lessons offered by the planet that sustains our existence and that we will go back to once we pass from this world.
We can combine “In Awe” with “In Search” to keep our feet on the ground while reaching for the stars. To quote Ruth Gordon in Harold and Maude “the earth is my body, my head is in the stars.”I love the amount of thought and imagery that goes into The Art Oblivion‘s bead designs. They tell a story with all the different details and they feel very special to wear.
I was trying to figure out if I had a top favourite, from the two…but after a few days of wearing and styling with them, I still love both of them equally. They pair perfectly together and not do they compliment each other visually, but their bead stories do too!And that is it for today’s blog post! Stay tuned for my new Youtube video that will show an even more detailed look at these two new beads! I would love to know your thoughts on these beads. Do you have a favourite, from the two? And how would you style these beads?

The Story & Inspiration Behind my Bead Design with OHM Beads | Don’t Give Up
Happy Monday! I hope this blog posts finds you and your loved ones safe, healthy and doing well.
This past Saturday, I premiered a special video on Youtube. It is part two of my “Exciting Announcement” video. If you remember from my previous blog post, I shared that I will be OHM Beads June 2020 OHMistry Project. This means I got to design my own bead with OHM Beads! It is such a surreal, crazy dream come true.
In my new video, I share a detailed look at my bead, as well as the story and inspirations behind it. This is probably my most personal (and slightly vulnerable) video yet. You can watch it HERE or down below:Thank you to this incredible community and to OHM Beads for making this dream come true. Biggest virtual hugs!
OHM Don’t Give Up
My OHMistry Project bead is called, DON’T GIVE UP. It is a silver oxidized bead and will be releasing on June 19th, 2020 at 10:00 AM Pacific time zone.
The limited-edition release of DON’T GIVE UP is part of Project OHMistry and is limited to 111 signed and serialized pieces. A certificate of authenticity is included inside a limited edition box (I actually got to illustrate the box art myself). As mentioned in my video, this bead reflects a journey. It is a mountain that has a dark side and a light side to it. Here is the story behind the bead:
“DON’T GIVE UP, you tell yourself. You feel it in your heart and soul. You are meant to succeed.
It starts with those first few steps. But with all journeys, it is a struggle of faith and self-assurance. Fear finds its way to creep in. It twists your path, voices harsh judgment, creates doubt and pain. It tries to seize the victory that awaits you.
At your darkest moment, when all feels lost, this bead reminds you to keep going. Push upwards, onwards! Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see.
Having faith will guide your journey, through the darkness. The clouds will open, the path will brighten and the further you go, the clearer your path becomes. You will find unexpected help. You will experience achievements, big and small. Before you know it, you will arrive at the end and the start of a new beginning.
You will be victorious. Every fear, doubt, and painful memory will be conquered.“
What is your “Don’t Give Up” journey?
Leading up to June 19th, I will continue to share the journey of designing this bead with OHM Beads! Stay tuned for official OHM Beads photos, the process of seeing my bead come to life (from wax to silver) and how I’ve been styling my bead.
Side note: Can you spot my artist signature, on this bead? I love that OHM Beads added this detail to the bead. You can also find it on the box art:
Anyway, that is it for today’s blog post! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and talk to you soon! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH AGAIN! xo
